Work with us to make a difference.

Thompson Island employs a talented team of individuals with a diverse range of skill sets across a multitude of disciplines. While the majority of our staff work on Thompson Island for Programs, the Events and Conference Center, Maintenance and the Waterfront, our efforts also require a dedicated group of administrative professionals who work primarily from our “main-land,” offices located in Boston’s Seaport District. These positions include individuals with expertise in Development, Communications, Accounting, Human Resources, and Sales. All departments, along with every individual we employ, are vital to the efforts of the organization and share a commitment to our mission of serving Boston area youth. Please find information on positions we hire annually by department below, along with position descriptions for current administrative and executive opportunities.

Programs Department/Field Instructional Positions

Thompson Island employs compassionate and engaging field staff with the desire to become a part of our educational mission and to have a lasting impact on the lives of Boston youth. Members of our staff work with students across an array of disciplines, from traditional classroom settings to navigating the waters and islands of the Boston Harbor. As a member of our field instructional team on Thompson Island your primary responsibility is to provide participants with a safe learning environment and opportunity to engage in activities that allow for reflection and growth. By the end of each course, be it one day or a multi-week long expedition, you will have fostered each student’s ability to do more than they thought possible as an individual and a member of team.
