Please dress appropriately for the weather - volunteer service days are rain or shine and the work is mostly outdoors! We recommend shorts with long socks or long pants, close-toed shoes (sneakers or boots are ideal), and a hat to protect against the sun or rain.
What tools are volunteers given to complete volunteer projects?
Thompson Island Outward Bound will provide the following: round-trip ferry transportation, coffee, work gloves, tools, sunscreen, bug spray, water and snacks. We encourage groups to bring their own gloves if possible to help offset the costs associated with running the program.
How long will we be working?
The work we require of our volunteers is typically labor intensive, which is why we have our groups work 2-3 hours total.
What size group should we bring to volunteer?
Volunteer groups may range from 20-50 participants in size.
