Along with our annual 4K Trail Run, Thompson Island Outward Bound is a proud partner of the 2024 Bank of America Boston Marathon Official Charity Program, as well as the 2024 ASICS Falmouth Road Race. Combine your passion for the outdoors and Thompson Island's mission of providing outstanding educational opportunities with your love for running by joining one of our teams!

Boston Marathon
Want to run the 128th Boston Marathon and support Boston students at the same time? As proud partners of the 2024 Bank of America Boston Marathon Official Charity Program, we have a limited number of invitational entries to be used exclusively for fundraising, so now’s your chance!
Applications to be part of 2024 Boston Marathon team are now closed. Please reach out to Emma Levy at elevy@thompsonisland.org with any questions and to reserve a spot on our waitlist.
All Accepted Runners Will Receive:
- An official bib for the 2024 Boston Marathon®.
- A customizable fundraising page.
- A Thompson Island Outward Bound fundraising guide with communication tools, social media templates, and more!
- Organized and supported group training runs, and a day of community building and learning on Thompson Island this spring.
- Fundraising support and guidance through regular team emails, social media groups, and monthly team calls.
- Swag and gifts from Thompson Island Outward Bound.
Application and Race Requirements:
- The 2024 Boston Marathon® will be held in Monday April 15th, 2024.
- All accepted runners for the Thompson Island Outward Bound Marathon team must pledge to raise at least $8,500 to earn their 2024 Boston Marathon® entry and must meet the fundraising minimum by April 15th, 2024.
- Accepted runners must pay a $200 team fee (which will be credited to fundraising).
- Upon registering for the 128th Boston Marathon, all accepted runners must pay an additional fee of $375 to the Boston Athletic Association (amount set by B.A.A.).
- All runners will adhere to the rules and regulations put forth by the B.A.A.
Falmouth Road Race
Run in the 52nd Falmouth Road Race and support Thompson Island Outward Bound at the same time! As proud participants in this historic race for three years running, we have received 10 invitational entries to participate in the 2024 race. Applications are NOW OPEN on a rolling basis through June 1st, 2024! Please contact Emma Levy at elevy@thompsonisland.org with any questions and to request a link to apply.

- Personalized swag and gifts from Thompson Island Outward Bound!
Application and Race Requirements:
- The 2024 Falmouth Road Race will be held on Sunday August 18th.
- All accepted runners for the Thompson Island Outward Bound team must pledge to raise at least $1250 to earn their entry and must meet the fundraising minimum by Friday August 16th, 2024.
- All runners will adhere to the rules and regulations put forth by the Falmouth Road Race.
