Having the necessary gear for outdoor learning is essential! With your support, we can make sure that ALL Boston students who come to Thompson Island have ALL the gear they need to discover who they are and ALL they can become.
On Thompson Island Outward Bound, we partner with Boston Public Schools to help close the opportunity and achievement gaps by bringing students to Thompson Island every year throughout middle school. Program length ranges from one to three days with each student visiting Thompson Island at least 12 times by the end of their middle school education. The programs are complemented by pre and post classroom lessons that prepare students for learning and “living” on the Island.
Learning on an Island Classroom requires technical gear to keep students safe, warm, and protected. By adding “Giving Back, Gear Up” to your shopping list, you can ensure all students have access to this critically important gear!
