Thompson Island Outward Bound Education Center has been mentioned in the Boston Globe on Tuesday in a story on the Boston Summer Learning Project.
“When we create opportunities for our youth, we set them on a pathway to a successful future.” Mayor Martin J. Walsh via Boston Globe article, Enrollment doubles in city summer learning project
We are very excited to be highlighted out of so many outstanding programs helping our city’s youth. It speaks to the impact we have on the thousands of low-income Boston Public School students participating in our free Summer Connections program. They will return to their classrooms in the fall with increased confidence, leadership skills, and mastery of basic science practices.
Thanks to the support of our loyal donors, over 4,000 Boston Public School students, all low-income, will get to experience the beauty of Thompson Island and reap the benefits of learning by doing.
